Domed fibre end fittings


Starscape domed acrylic end fittings give a very different look to a fibre optic display for use where achieving a starry sky effect is not your main aim. The dome can be viewed from all angles and installation is very easy. The fittings are supplied with two sizes of flexible inserts to accept both 0.75mm and 1.00mm fibres.

1) Determine the position of the end fittings and then drill your holes using a 6.5mm bit. 2) Introduce the fibre and push on the insert.
Drill a 6.5mm hole to accept the fibre optic fitting. Flexible insert for the fibre optic fitting.
3) Push the insert firmly into the fitting. 4) Push the completed fitting into the board.
Push the flexible insert into the fibre optic fitting.
5) Turn on the power! Photo showing the comparison between the domed end fitting and a bare 1.00mm fibre. As you can see, the bare fibre looks far more star like.

Tip* Leave some slack in the fibre behind the fitting to allow removal for repainting.
