Furrules
The number of fibres that the light source can illuminate depends on the number and diameter of the optical fibres, the diameter of the ferrule and the width of the focused beam of light shining through the optical port.

Our 75 watt and 100 watt Tungsten Halogen light sources both have 25mm ferrules which can accommodate the following numbers of fibres:

125 x 2mm,
225 x 1.5mm

350 x 1.00mm

220 x 1.5mm

500 x mixed 1.00mm and 0.75mm

700 x 0.75mm fibres.

Light source dimensions.

Length x width x height in cms

The length dimension does not represent the actual size of the enclosure, but takes into account also the common end ferrule and fibre bundle.

In other words, you'll need at least this much length to comfortably accommodate the unit. You should also bear in mind that the cooling fan needs a reasonable volume of air to work with. If in doubt, consult us.
